Another Disaster in the making?
  David Timbs
(Sunday blogger from Australia)
Commenting on the introduction of the new English-language translation of the Roman Missal,  Fr Thomas Reece sj described it as a ‘train wreck in slow motion.’ Signs are that it may well have collided with an immovable force long ago. That force is the re-emerging mass confusion, disquiet, criticism, protest and resistance to the translation.

The vision of Vatican II
Martin Mallon
(Ireland blogger)
A powerful commentary on the inspirational America Magazine
interview with Ladislas Orsy SJ
John XXIII was advised to be careful because if you make concessions to the bishops then they will run away with the Council. Apparently the Pope responded: “They too”, meaning the bishops, “have the Holy Spirit.” The Pope obeyed the Spirit as he discovered the Spirit in the bishops, and without that the Council would have been very different; it would have been a restatement of the status quo of the last two or three centuries.
The bishops' first responsibility is to the Holy Spirit, not to the Pope, not to the bishops’ conference

With the availability of Church documents and insightful theological studies, it is surely time those members of the plebs Dei who have started to grow up, and who are hungry for a more mature experience of ‘Church’ than the one currently on offer, should be listened to
