despite extreme winds from Left and Right

The agenda of the "Reform of the Reform"
: no more Communion under both kinds, Latin Mass with priest not facing people, no lay people (except altar boys) on sanctuary, no altar girls, no special ministers, Communion on tongue while kneeling down, no more deacons, more censorship, more control by Rome, Vatican II teaching undermined

Straining out a gnat
 and swallowing a camel

David Timbs
(Sunday blogger from Australia)
The disproportional nature of authoritarian coercion is now increasingly obvious to both insiders and outsiders and is being assessed accordingly - yet another example of an often reactive paranoia. The Vatican doctrinal bureaucracy, in the public eye, has elevated gnat straining to an exotic new art form. While the Irish and American episode amounts in reality to little more than a series of local spot fires, best left to local churches to deal with, the Vatican has mistakenly treated them as uncontrolled forest fires endangering the whole Church.

A new file:

The New Translation
John W
The file explains why I am declining to use the new translation when the Vat forces its use in HK on Dec 2. From Dec 2  I will no longer be saying  English public Masses, only Chinese public Masses.  HK diocese recently led the way in refusing to use "National Education" because it was bad for students. I am declining to use the new translation because it is bad for Catholics. Of the Catholics  who attend English Mass in HK,  very few have English as their first language. The ghastly English of the new translation will make it much more difficult for HK Catholics to follow the Mass. The new translation is an obstacle to prayer. In the way it was conjured up, and in the damage it is doing in the English-speaking world, the new translation is a betrayal of the vision of Vat II

A mature Christian should never
 be afraid to speak out
Joseph Girzone
It is an important role of the laity to work together and speak up when something is causing serious damage to the community.  And priests have the same responsibility to speak up when they notice things that are not right in the wider church community. This is critical out of loyalty to Jesus, to force change when things are happening that is contrary to what Jesus expects of his Church.  This is an extremely important part of evangelization which unfortunately is hardly ever mentioned  in the training of young Christians.  As a result a strong, mature and outspoken laity is sadly lacking in the Church

The link between compulsory celibacy and sexual abuse

Common sense says there is a link,
in which case compulsory celibacy must be re-assessed. If the Vatican  continues to regard this as a no-go topic, governments around the world
