WHEN A CHILD IS BORN 

When a child is born, the parents normally start to argue, or should we say, have contentious discussions about the child’s name. They also like to talk about the child’s future. The mother will say that the child will grow up to be President of the country; the father disagrees – he will be a pilot who will fly me all over the world for free ! Or the mother says he will be a doctor, that father a police officer who will find out who stole their lawn mower ! Believe me, over you too, your parents or guardians definitely talked about your future and their wish is always the same – success for the child.

Parents sometimes forget that all life is given by God, who alone has The Best Plans for each one of us. So although parents may be full of hope and optimism, God alone knows the twists and turns that life will take. Often when a child fails, or does not live up to his parents’ expectations, they experience disappointment, forgetting that that ‘failure’ may well be the path to success. God, of course, has no plans for anyone to fail, but can use each failure as a lesson. So, no matter who you are, and what you situation is, regard it as God’s plan. You may have disappointed your parents, your children, friends or colleagues, but, believe me, everything has happened according to a plan. Your own plans can falter, fail and disappoint others, but God’s Plan for you will never fail ! Know that your painful situation will pass, because God will not have allowed it to occur otherwise. If there were an easier way than putting you through this situation, God would have used it ! What an honour it is to be trusted by God !

Even though your situation seems overwhelming, hold on a little longer, because you are at the end of it and about to begin an amazing life that you never dreamt of. We may have disappointed all those who love us, but God knows better than anyone, and His plans are invisible. We forget that God has no favourites and nobody was born by mistake or without purpose. The Word of God tells us that God never gives up on His children. So no matter who gives up on you, your Creator, your Manufacturer, will NEVER give up on you. God’s time is the right time; it is precisely when everyone has written you off that God shows His power of miracles. Show me any situation that God does not know about, including yours !

I hope this script puts a smile on your face and reminds you that when a child is born, there is a purpose for him or her, and even though you may have underachieved others’ expectations, you are growing to what God wants you to be. And That Alone is Important.
