Times of prosperity are times when many people forget God.
Times of trial and sorrow are when people remember God

Human progress continues to speed up: new discoveries/inventions/ways of doing things

Human life also speeds up: modern people are people in a hurry,
always in a hurry, rushing from A to B.
Life is like a rat race

So this article asks:
What's the point of all our activity?
How should we use new discoveries/inventions etc?

What can the Church offer?

Answer:

From God's word the Church draws moral and religious principles,
to throw light on the meaning of our activity and discoveries

Jesus, may your Church
help more people to understand and cope with
the rat race of life
