 Based on the Vatican 2 document 
"Gaudium et Spes" (Church in the world)  89, 90

This article says the Church should be present at international gatherings and organizations
to lobby for cooperation and progress in the human family.

How present?
- by an official presence
- by the presence of individual Christians who belong to various organizations

Official presence ....e.g. the Vatican having a seat at the United Nations etc:

- some people say it has advantages (be where the decisions are made);
- other people say the Vatican should stop being a political entity
(with all the trappings thereby required)
and get back to being a spiritual organization

Jesus, please help your Church
be less like a Big Business
and more a Spiritual Family
