Ad Gentes  - 23

Every Christian has the duty of spreading the Gospel,
but God calls some Christians to full time evangelisation
- as priests, religious or lay people

And there's the rub: for most Catholics until recent times
spreading the Gospel was the work of specialists, not the work of ordinary Christians. This was in part due to the specialists (priests and religious) not being over anxious to involve lay people in evangelisation

Even now, to be honest, how many Catholics have a fire in their belly to help other people know Jesus?

On the other hand, our Evangelical brothers and sisters, as soon as they are baptised, hit the ground witnessing

Jesus, please help all Christians, especially all Catholics,
be missionaries to the world around them
