Based on the 1965 Vatican 2 document:
DECLARATION ON RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
DIGNITATIS HUMANAE - 2

Freedom of religion means no one is to be forced to act in a manner contrary to their own beliefs, whether privately or publicly, whether alone or in association with others

At the same time, in everyone's DNA there is a built-in desire to seek truth, with a corresponding built-in acknowledgment that we need to follow the truth as we know it

Which means:
- no persecution/burning of "heretics"
- respect for people of different faiths
- I must search for an ever deeper understanding of truth

Jesus, you are the Truth.
May everyone find you and love you

A couple of hours after typing the above words,
I continued reading "To Heaven and Back" by
Mary C. Neal MD (Waterbrook, 2012)....and on p. 149 saw these words:

"It seems that God sends us to earth with a deeply-rooted desire to seek meaning and spirituality, and until we satisfy this desire, we experience a void in our souls. Some people fill this void with God, some fill it with material possessions or other worldly desires, and some try not to feel this void by deadening their senses with drugs or alcohol"    !
