Based on the 1965 Vatican 2 document:
DECLARATION ON RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

Two ideas from this article:

1. Jesus respected people's freedom. He never forced anyone to believe.
He invited, encouraged, corrected, warned....but never forced. He always respected people's free will

2. Jesus' followers - Christians - must show the same respect to other people. We should never hound people about religion.
One reason why not a few people say "No thanks" to someone from a church...is that in the past they were hounded to such an extent as to put them off any interest in Christianity

Jesus, please help Christians witness to your love
in a way that doesn't turn any one off Christianity
